Absolutely brilliant. When Adelaide was going to refurbish the City toGlenelg tram it was hoped that the tram lines were to be replaced by an O-Bahn to provide flexibility and efficiently to the south western suburbs…but the tram won out because of its tourist appeal.

Check the timetable train stops 16 times a day.. doesn't take much if any research for a UA-cam video

This service is an embarrassment. no Club Car, no sleepers. Pathetic. So much for the Qld Govt investing in the outback. It could be a great tourist adventure like the Spirit of the Outback. Spirit of the Nth West.

Not much has changed regarding the ME3 airlines when it comes to equipment change and IRROPS. I had a First Class ticket with Emirates 10 years ago and they did a similar swap like Qatar did here in your case. I was downgraded and got no info, noticed this 8 days before my trip on a cash payed revenue ticket and they could only offer me to fly the day before or after. I asked them to book me via London or any other EU destination that had First Class same day but they said they couldn't because they didnt have any codeshare with any airlines from Sweden........ I ended up flying the flight in Business class, had a 10 month lenghty e-mailing back and forward and EK wanted to only offer me 330 EUR for the downgrade on a 7h First Class flight...... Totally shitty handled..... Never flown Emirates since and have now lifetime status with other airlines.

My last trip to Melbourne was horrendous. I often travel to Canberra and I was once allocated seat 1 in first class. The noise was so bad I was transferred to economy as there were no other first class seats available. This is apparently quite normal according to the staff. The food is hit or miss, sometimes very good, sometimes very poor.

...and why don't they just build a tram?

I'm a little dense, but I don't understand why you have to go through customs and immigration if you never leave Australia.

Yet another half baked solution on city transportation in Australia

In the seventies there was a crossing next to the station along with a wood yard business. You could come along Memorial drive, keep going and end going down Torrens Rd or you could turn left at the crossing and go into Bowden which is on the Outer Harbour line. North Adelaide is on the Gawler Line. North Adelaide used to service Bowden/Brompton/North Adelaide suburbs but everybody around that area either has a car/cycles or walks into the city that is only a few kilometres distance.

I've travelled the full length, it was interesting and a much better ride than on the streets having to deal with intersections, traffic lights and other vehicles.

From Schofields in the future, can Sydney metro line go along the M2 outer orbital line via the limited stops “Schofields, Marsden Park, Ropes Crossing”, and the diverge on to St Mary’s, the converting the line between St Mary’s and Blacktown to Metro and then make the line extending to Rhodes stops at “Prospect, Pemulway, Sth Wentworthville, Merrylands, South Granville, Berela, Lidcombe, Silverwater and Rhodes”, and then ad the M7 line name it “Blacktown line”

My wife and I were booked on the Ghan (platinum sleeper) in late May. 4 days before we were due to head off, her father died. Now, I get that their terms say that cancelling at such short notice means no refund, I really do. But I would have expected a halfway decent company to offer some sort of token partial credit for a future trip. Just as a gesture of good faith. But no. Beyond are beyond belief. Not only will I never travel with them, I will - and am - telling everyone I know this story.

You should fly to London first class

It's a shame they don't have a proper train. What an amazing view all the way, but you have to sit, cramped in squalor to see it. I'd rather pay much more and have an old-school cabin train. Those seats and trays look absolutely gross. Even if they just ran a decent tourist train once per month or something for a better experience, at least we could book it. I for one will not ever be getting on that train. Thanks for taking the time to make the video though. Thumbs up!

It will be a good thing that the new CAF civity trains are gonna replace these ones, hopefully with better facilities up to todays standards
